(1) Manual Programming
This refers to a programming method where everything from analyzing part drawings, determining machine tools, customizing machining processes, performing numerical calculations, to writing machining program lists is done manually.
Manual programming is more economical and convenient when the part shape is not very complex, the amount of numerical calculation is small, or the machining program is not too long. Therefore, manual programming is widely used in point-to-point machining and simple contour machining. However, when the part shape is complex, the amount of numerical calculation is large, or the machining program is too long, manual programming is not only time-consuming and laborious, but also prone to errors, and sometimes it is simply impossible to complete manually. In this case, automatic programming should be considered.
(2) Automatic Programming
This refers to a programming method where a computer automatically calculates the tool movement trajectory and automatically generates the price program using automatic programming software.
When using automatic programming, the programmer only needs to input the price information into the computer according to the requirements of the part drawing. The entire programming process, including numerical calculations, is completed by the computer. Therefore, it not only reduces the workload of the programmer, but also shortens the programming time and greatly improves labor efficiency.
