1. Pre-operation maintenance of vertical milling machine
(1) Before starting the machine, check if all oil sump is low on oil and add clean machine oil according to the lubrication diagram.
(2) Check the appearance and function of the power switch and ensure the grounding device is intact.
(3) Check all screws, bolts, handles, knobs, and oil cups for looseness or loss. If any are found, tighten or replace them immediately.
(4) Check the condition of the drive belt.
(5) Check the electrical safety devices for proper functioning.
2. In-shift maintenance of vertical milling machine
(1) Observe the sensitivity, reliability, temperature rise, noise, and vibration of the motor and electrical components.
(2) Check the sensitivity and reliability of the electrical safety devices.
(3) Observe the temperature rise, noise, and vibration of each transmission component.
(4) Constantly check the operation of the plunger oil pumps in the machine bed and lifting table. If no oil flows out of the indicator while the machine is running, repair it immediately. (5) If axial clearance of the longitudinal lead screw and transmission is found, adjust according to the instructions.
(6) Adjustment of the spindle bearing.
(7) Adjustment of the rapid traverse clutch of the worktable.
(8) Adjustment of the tension of the transmission belt.
3. Post-shift maintenance of vertical milling machines
After work, the equipment must be inspected and cleaned, and routine maintenance should be performed. All operating handles (switches) should be placed in neutral (zero position), and the power switch should be turned on to achieve neatness, cleanliness, lubrication, and safety.
Regular maintenance of vertical milling machines
1. Clean the interior of the machine bed, the interior of the lifting table, and the lubricating oil sump of the worktable base every 3 months. Clean the oil filter of the lubricating oil pump with gasoline, at least twice a year.
2. Lubricate the lifting lead screw with aluminum disulfide oil every two months.
3. Adjustment of clearances in various parts of the machine tool:
(1) Adjustment of spindle lubrication: Ensure that one drop of oil passes through per minute. (2) Adjustment of the longitudinal lead screw transmission clearance of the worktable: Adjust every 3 months or according to actual usage. The requirement is to significantly reduce the transmission clearance, ensuring the lead screw clearance does not exceed 1/40 revolution, and there should be no jamming along its entire length.
(3) Adjustment of the axial clearance of the longitudinal lead screw of the worktable: The purpose is to eliminate the transmission clearance between the lead screw and the nut, and to minimize the clearance between the lead screw and the worktable in the axial direction.
(4) Adjustment of the radial clearance of the spindle bearing: Adjust according to actual usage.
4. Adjustment requirements for the rapid traverse clutch of the worktable:
(1) When the friction clutch is disengaged, the total clearance between the friction plates should not be less than 2-3 mm.
(2) When the friction clutch is engaged, the friction plates should be tightly pressed together, and the electromagnet core should be fully tightened. If the electromagnet core is properly engaged, the electromagnet will not make any noise when tightened.
